Davies appoints James Ferris to CEO of captive management business, Nick Frost to move to chairman

Davies, the leading specialist professional services and technology company serving insurance and highly regulated markets, today announces the appointment of James Ferris as CEO of the firm’s Captive Management business. Based in Bermuda, the appointment is effective from 1 July and will see James replace current Captive Management CEO, Nick Frost, who will take on the role of chairman.

James, who brings more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry to the role, joins from BMS, where he held the role of CEO of capital & risk advisory in Bermuda. Prior to joining BMS, James spent two decades at PwC as lead partner of the PwC advisory team in both Bermuda and the UK. Ferris’ experience brings new capabilities and perspectives to the captive management team, as he takes over responsibility for the business and leading Davies’ global captives team, with clear goals to expand services and capabilities.

Nick Frost has held the role of captive management CEO for 14 years, and will be taking on an ambassadorial role as chairman, further strengthening Davies’ proposition for US captive owners. Under Nick’s leadership, Davies has adapted to new risks and tough market conditions, cementing the firm’s’ reputation as a global leader in captive management and alternative risk solutions.

The new structure further positions Davies’ captive management business to grow into new global domiciles in response to increasing client demand for broader international support.
